Also known as saccharides, carbohydrates are known as biomolecules. Lipids, , nucleotides, proteins, and carbohydrates. Among these four biomolecules, carbohydrates are the most numerous. 2. Monosaccharide. This is the smallest unit of sugar. Fructose, glucose, and galactose are good examples. Glucose is the primary energy source of each cell. Galactose comes from dairy or milk products. Fructose comes from fruits and vegetables.
3. Polysaccharide. This carbohydrate is found in insect structure, and cell wall structure of plants.
